wortsport.org — An Interaktive Word-Play-Ground for German Speakers
Online-Poetry-Slam-Workshop
Text prompts as a thought experiment. A look into the poets’ bag of tricks. Stories as a modular system. Under the title #WORTSPORT, Bas Böttcher developed and programmed online workshops for literary writing, which have now been made available free of charge for all educators to use. Due to the COVID contact restrictions, writing workshops had to be moved into the “digital space” and new forms of collaboration had to be explored.
Young talents will find a wide range of interactive prompts, ideas, examples, exercises, and inspiration for their own experiments in literary writing at wortsport.org.
The website www.wortsport.org
can be used free of charge by anyone interested as a pool of ideas. This is where the strengths of online tools come into play: workshop participants from Brisbane to Berlin can write on shared projects either simultaneously or asynchronously and draw inspiration from the language games and audio contributions provided. The project was programmed and initiated by slam poet and media artist Bas Böttcher together with radio play author Thilo Reffert.
